Help now
You do not have to go through this alone
If you feel you cannot go on, if you are afraid for yourself or for someone else, talk to a person now. These lines exist for exactly that. The numbers below are for Greece; if you are elsewhere, see the last card.
Support lines
Suicide intervention line
Klimaka. For anyone thinking of harming themselves, or worried about someone else.
Psychosocial support line
Ministry of Health. For anxiety, grief, loneliness, crisis, or simply the need to talk.
SOS line for violence against women
For women facing violence or abuse, and for anyone who wants to help them.
SOS line for children and teenagers
The Smile of the Child. For children at risk and for adults worried about a child.
Immediate social help
EKKA. For people in crisis who need shelter, protection or social support.
For someone else
Worried about someone you love?
- Ask directly. Asking “are you thinking of hurting yourself?” does not put the idea in anyone’s head. It opens the door.
- Listen without fixing. You do not need solutions. You need to be there.
- Do not stay alone with it. Call 1018 together, or ask 10306 for advice on how to support them.
- If there is immediate danger, do not leave them alone, and call 112.
